Description

Some people come to Gatlinburg to get away. Some people come to have fun. When you stay at The Smoky Mountain Lodge, only 9 miles from downtown Gatlinburg, you’ll get both! This 4,000 square-foot lodge has space enough for everyone in your group to have their own private retreat when they need it, and it is loaded to the brim with fun amenities for the times when you’re ready to get together and have a great time!

The Smoky Mountain Lodge is located in the Cobbly Nob Resort, which is roughly 13 miles from the exciting hustle and bustle of downtown Gatlinburg and about 8 miles from the Rocky Top Sports complex. This mountain town is loaded with exciting attractions and events to keep your group entertained while you’re away. You can jump into bumper cars or challenge each other to a game of black light mini golf at Gatlinburg’s Fort Fun. Or catch a view of the Smokies like no other on the Gatlinburg Sky Lift. If this is a returning visit and you’re looking for something new, Gatlinburg is full of hidden gems you may not have looked into yet. These include attractions like the Great Smoky Arts and Crafts Community, the largest community of independent artisans in North America, and the Salt and Pepper Shaker Museum. No matter how many times you come to Gatlinburg, you’ll always find something new and exciting to do during your stay.

One word of caution: although The Smoky Mountain Lodge has more than enough space on the inside to accommodate your large group, you will not find room for parking a bus. So opt for a caravan of cars instead because you’ll find plenty of room for parking on the street in front of the cabin. You’ll definitely be able to fit 8 cars—maybe even a few more. The driveway is paved, but these are mountain roads, so it’s a bit curvy. Be sure to take it slow and use caution as you arrive.

Once inside, the clean and cozy atmosphere of the cabin will be well worth the drive into the mountains you had to take to get there! This cabin is secluded in its own corner of the wooded Smoky Mountain hills. You’ll have access to decks on three levels of the house, which overlook the mountains and green, lush trees in every direction. Three of the bedrooms in this cabin even have direct access to the deck, so you’ll get to enjoy a Smoky Mountain sunrise or sunset from the privacy of your bedroom! On the deck, you’ll be excited to find an outdoor hot tub for six, guaranteed to make your stay relaxing and pleasurable. You’ll also find rocking chairs, two picnic tables, and two charcoal grills. So your group can enjoy a night in with hot dogs and hamburgers—or maybe even a special occasion with grilled steaks and skewers—while visiting the Smokies.

Along with the charcoal grills, The Smoky Mountain Lodge provides a fully-loaded kitchen for you to use while you’re away from home. This provides the convenience of a place to store your leftovers or, if you’re feeling ambitious, a place to prepare for a large pancake breakfast with the family. There are also two smaller kitchens on lower floors. The Smoky Mountain Lodge is your home away from home while visiting Gatlinburg.

The comforts of this cozy cabin extend beyond the multiple decks and kitchens, however. Inside The Smoky Mountain Lodge you’ll also find 7 bedrooms plus a loft spaced out among the three stories. These bedrooms provide three king-sized beds, 6 queen-sized beds, and two twin over full bunk beds, which are great for kids traveling in your group. Every bedroom comes equipped with its own TV. The loft has a twin trundle that will sleep two guests. With all these overnight guests, you’ll need plenty of bathroom space, and The Smoky Mountain Lodge does not disappoint. You’ll find 5 bathrooms throughout this cabin, three of which contain indoor jetted tubs, and two of which provide oversized bathtubs for a truly relaxing addition to your Smoky Mountain retreat. The Smoky Mountain Lodge has a detached apartment that offers 3 additional queens and a sleeper sofa. This part of the cabin does require a separate key code. Last but definitely not least, The Smoky Mountain Lodge provides an extensive life of amenities for you to use while you stay. Along with two wood-burning fireplaces for your comfort and convenience, you’ll also find a big-screen TV, DVD, and high-speed wireless. And this list doesn’t include all the other just-for-fun amenities of The Smoky Mountain Lodge like a pool table, Ping-Pong table, bumper pool table and basketball hoop. Better still, this cabin provides pool access, so you and your guests can enjoy getting out and about for a while. This is especially beneficial for those traveling to Gatlinburg in late spring or summer—you’ll love having the opportunity to cool off on those 90-degrees-and-climbing afternoons!

At The Smoky Mountain Lodge, you’ll find space enough for everyone you know—and maybe even a few more! With clean and comfortable furnishings, a warm wood interior, and enough amenities to keep even the rowdiest group entertained, this cabin is a great choice for your large group this year.
